The “Oscar Awards” of the travel and tourism sector
PUERTO VALLARTA (PVDN) – Luis Villaseñor Nolasco, director of the Tourism Trust of Puerto Vallarta, proudly announced that the picturesque city has been nominated in seven categories for the esteemed 2023 Travvy Awards. Among these nominations, Puerto Vallarta has been highlighted as the contender for the coveted “Best Destination” in Mexico.
Often referred to as the “Oscar Awards” of the travel and tourism sector, the Travvy Awards shine a spotlight on the crème de la crème of the travel industry every year. These awards commend the outstanding leaders spanning various categories such as destinations, hotels, cruise lines, tour operators, and travel agencies.
Puerto Vallarta, no stranger to the Travvy Awards, has witnessed a rise in nominations from six in 2022 to seven in 2023. This year, the sun-soaked city is competing in the following categories:
- Best Gastronomic Destination in Mexico
- Best Destination in Mexico
- Best Destination for Honeymoons in Mexico
- Best Tourism Office in Mexico
- Best Destination for Weddings
- Best Destination for Weddings in Mexico
- Best Academic Program for Travel Agents
Reflecting on the city’s consistent recognition at the awards, Nolasco commented, “Year after year, Puerto Vallarta remains a top contender at these prestigious awards. This year, with seven nominations, including Best Gastronomic Destination, it’s a testament to our city’s allure and hard work.”

The much-anticipated award ceremony, set to unveil the winners, will take place on November 2, 2023.
It’s worth noting that at the eighth edition of the Travvy Awards in 2022, held in Florida, Puerto Vallarta clinched five of the six categories it was nominated for. These accolades encompassed Best Dining Destination in Mexico (Silver Award), Best Tourism Office (Bronze Award), Best Destination in Mexico (Bronze Award), Best Wedding Destination (Bronze Award), and Best Honeymoon Destination (Bronze Award).
With such an impressive track record, the anticipation surrounding Puerto Vallarta’s performance at this year’s awards is palpable. Only time will tell if the city will continue its winning streak and bring more honors home.
